We provide the following care to save diverse SOGIESC lives through:

Emergency Support

We provide Crisis Response support to diverse SOGIESC/LGBTQI+ persons who are subjected to violence and torture from state and non-state actors during anti-LGBTQI+ campaigns or crackdowns or being targeted by their transit or country of origin intelligence or military or community violence or family violence. Our support includes but is not limited to food, shelter, medication, etc

Relocation Support

We relocate diverse SOGIESC/LGBTQI+ persons to safer countries who are fleeing from violence and torture from state and non-state actors from anti-LGBTQI+ campaigns or crackdowns or being targeted by their transit or country of origin intelligence or military or community violence or family violence

Mental Health Support

We provide mental health support to diverse SOGIESC/LGBTQI+ persons who have been subjected to violence and torture from state and non-state actors from anti-LGBTQI+ campaigns or crackdowns or being targeted by their transit or country of origin intelligence or military or community violence or family violence. We provide counseling and peer support.

Legal Advocacy

Advocating for laws that protect LGBTQI+ rights and promote safety, including anti-LGBTQI+ laws and hate legislation. We conduct thorough data analysis to identify trends, gaps, and challenges affecting LGBTQI+ individuals. Our findings will inform our policy recommendations, enabling us to advocate for legislative and systemic changes.

Research

We conduct research to document cases of violence against LGBTQI+ individuals, informing advocacy efforts and policy changes. Publishing findings to highlight issues and trends, influencing public policy and funding priorities.

  • Ivy

    Executive Assistant to Founder

    Ivy is a Black-trans refugee woman with dedicated experience in strategic planning, project management and development.

    One of her most significant achievements has been the positive impact she has made within the transgender community through her volunteer work whereby she has changed and touched lives of trans people.

    Director of Intake

    Aisha is a proud Muslim hijabi Palestinian woman and a passionate human rights defender. She is dedicated to advocating for the rights of the LGBTQI+ community. Through her love of writing, Aisha aims to create meaningful change in the world. She believes in the power of words to inspire and uplift marginalized voices. Her commitment to justice and equality drives her efforts every day. Aisha seeks to bridge gaps and foster understanding among diverse communities. With her unique perspective, she hopes to challenge stereotypes and promote acceptance. Her work reflects her deep dedication to creating a more inclusive society for all.

    Director of Administration

    Namirimu is a Black trans woman and dedicated human rights defender. She is driven by a deep desire to help others who share her experiences. At Taha Palm, she works tirelessly to support members of the LGBTQI+ community.

    Faith has always been a firm believer in equal rights for all people. we are all human beings and as such we all deserve to enjoy equal rights, regardless of race, gender, colour, disability or any other fact that divides people.

    Zahra is Afghan refugee woman who is an advocate for LGBTQI+ individuals. She recognizes the critical importance of supporting marginalized communities. Her own experiences fuel her commitment to make change.

    Taha

    Director of Reporting, Policy and Advocacy

    With a strong background in human rights research, media monitoring, databasing, and archiving, he has contributed to important global reports on LGBTQI+ issues and human rights.

    Taha’s experience in international research projects allows him to combine academic rigor with practical approaches, delivering valuable insights. His dedication to reporting, archiving, and advocacy helps preserve vital narratives that inform policy development and promote social change.

    Outside of work, Taha enjoys strength training, traveling, reading, and cherishing moments with his close-knit group of friends. He draws inspiration from their shared experiences and adventures.
